Tom Jinks is the Director of I.T. Audit and Consulting Services with Moore Colson. As a seasoned professional with over 25 years experience in IT consulting, management and leadership, Tom is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, proposing and implementing IT solutions, IT audit services, project planning, and scheduling.

Tom excels in problem identification, strategic planning, and analysis and risk assessment. He enjoys the challenge of interacting with business executives and management to identify problems and introduce solutions with measurable results. He has performed CIO/CTO functions on an interim basis, consulted and audited business continuity/disaster recovery plans for public and privately held organizations and lead the forensic and remediation activities related to a healthcare data breach. He also serves on the Risk Management Committee for a large public company.

As a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and leader of Moore Colson’s Sarbanes-Oxley and Healthcare teams, Tom has managed and participated in all phases of IT compliance and controls related to attestation for several $1 billion+ organizations. He has led compliance projects, HIPAA security assessments, preparedness, remediation, and information security best practices consultation for numerous healthcare and life sciences providers, and large private and public companies. As an example, Moore Colson has performed over 21,000 hours of Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA compliance services work, over the last seven years.

Not only has Tom been a leader in providing IT solutions over the years, he has been recognized in leading industry publications. Tom’s article on “Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Risks” appeared in the Georgia Branch of the Associated General Contractors of America, Forum Newsletter. He was also a guest speaker at the Commercial Finance Association’s 58th Annual Convention. Tom has led important industry healthcare seminars including; “Sarbanes-Oxley & Legal Compliance”, and “IT Security Risk In The Healthcare Industry - The Right Prescription” and HCCA’s web conference “Healthcare IT Security – A Corporate Compliance Matter”, and “Strategies for a Recovering Economy”. Most recently Tom was featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s report; “Wave of Information” in the “Strategies” section.

Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2001, he spent 13 years as the President of an Atlanta-area Computer and Internet Services Integration company. Tom has also held regional and local management positions with a Fortune 100 organization, focusing on the information technology arena.
