Dr. Megan Cosgrove is a Business Assurance Manager and joined Moore Colson after working as an Assistant Accounting Professor from August 2013 to September 2016 at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. Megan was also a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa from August 2009 to July 2013.
Megan worked as a Staff and Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young from June 2005 to May 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia and McLean, Virginia. Megan is a graduate of The University of Alabama with a Doctor of Philosophy in Accounting, December 2013, The University of Virginia with a Masters in Accounting, August 2006, and The University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in International Business with High Honors, December 2005.
Hudson Ireland is a Business Assurance Senior Manager and joined the firm after working as a senior auditor for Deloitte and Touche, LLP in Atlanta. In this role, he was responsible for working with public and privately-held companies, primarily in the real estate and financial services industries. Hudson was responsible for leading engagements that resulted in SEC filings related to financial statements and equity issuances. He also supervised the performance of Sarbanes Oxley procedures for SEC clients. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Masters of Accountancy, 2006 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting.
Tommy Wilkes is a Business Assurance Manager with Moore Colson. He joined the firm after working as a senior consultant with Ernst and Young in Houston, Texas in the Financial Accounting Advisory Services Practice. In this role Tommy managed and assisted with financial statement carve-outs for two large public companies, advised clients on technical accounting and financial reporting issues including issues arising from proposed new accounting guidelines. Tommy is a graduate of Texas A & M University with a Masters of Science in Accounting, 2010 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, 2009.
James Brewer joined Moore Colson as a Business Assurance Senior Associate. James previously worked as a senior auditor with Gerson, Preston, Klein, Lips, Eisenberg & Gelber, P.A., Miami, Florida. In this position, James planned and performed audits and reviews according to GAAS for a wide array of entities throughout South Florida including real estate, medical providers, construction, manufacturing, retail, restaurants, and defined benefit plans. James is a graduate of North Georgia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting 2010, and Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Finance 2007.
Chris Morris, CPA is a new Business Assurance Senior Associate with Moore Colson. Chris joined the firm after working as an Audit Manager with Smith, Adcock and Company Atlanta, Georgia. He also worked for Smoak, Davis & Nixon LLP Jacksonville, Florida as a Senior Accountant/Auditor. Chris is a graduate of the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Chris offers Industry experience in the Construction, gas station/petroleum sales, manufacturing and gaming industries.
Frances Bethel, CPA joined Moore Colson as a Business Assurance Senior Associate. She previously worked with Brady, Ware & Schoenfeld, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia. Frances has deep industry experience in auditing, financial statement preparation, fixed assets, GAAP compliance, bookkeeping, account reconciliations, payroll, due diligence support, and tax Return preparation. Frances has a B. S., Business and Information Technology with an accounting concentration from Middle Georgia State University, Macon, Georgia.
Brent Morris is a Business Assurance Senior Associate and comes to Moore Colson after working UPS as an Audit Supervisor. He also worked as n CitiBank as a Senior Auditor, and is a graduate of the University of the West Indies with a B.Sc. in Accounting and Economics. Brent has experience working with investment companies, insurance companies, utility companies, banks, telecommunication companies, retailers and manufacturers
