Atlanta, Georgia (April 8,
2005) – Atlanta based Moore Colson sponsored the March
Chapter meeting of The Commercial Finance Association (CFA)
– Atlanta Chapter, at the JW Marriott Hotel, Buckhead. The
event featured nationally
syndicated radio host Neal Boortz. Meeting sponsor
Moore Colson attendees included; Managing Partner, Greg
Colson, Senior Partners Bob Kiser and Todd McMullen, Bret
Roy – Director of Business Development and Robin Kelley –
Director of Marketing.
Mr. Boortz,
the event speaker, entertained the meeting attendees with
his unique blend of insight and humor. Mr. Boortz addressed
the FairTax program. The FairTax replaces the way we're
currently taxed - based on our annual income - with a tax on
goods and services. The FairTax is a voluntary “consumption"
tax according to Mr. Boortz’s presentation.
CFA board
of directors’ member Conrad Lauten, of Wachovia Capital
Finance, organized the event. “We have had five quarterly
meetings since I joined the board of directors, and this one
by far surpassed the others in terms of attendance and
participation. Much of this was fueled by the speaker, Neal
Boortz, and his local/national notoriety. Of course, to get
a speaker of his caliber requires resources beyond those
that the local chapter can provide. Without the help of
firms like Moore Colson as sponsors, these meetings would
not be possible. Moore Colson has provided support for
many of our functions over the years including the annual
golf tournament in September. The membership holds them in
high regard and the board appreciates the support they have
given the chapter over the years,” said Mr. Lauten.
“We are
proud to be associated with the CFA and have enjoyed a
mutually beneficial relationship over many years. We
appreciate Conrad Lauten’s leadership in organizing such a
well-attended event. The topic was extremely relevant. We
were privileged to sponsor the March chapter meeting,” says
Todd McMullen, Partner Moore Colson.
