Moore Colson Rings in the New Year
with Six New Professionals
Atlanta based accounting firm, Moore Colson,
recently announced the hiring of five new professionals and one
intern in the firm’s Business Assurance Services Practice, Tax
Services Practice and IT department.
Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service CPA firm located in
Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax and assurance services, management
consulting services, estate and financial services, lender services
and IT audit services.
Chad Graves joined Moore Colson as Director of IT in January,
2006. Before coming to Moore Colson, Chad worked with local Atlanta
accounting firm, Bennett Thrasher where he managed their IT
department and a staff of three employees. While at Bennett Thrasher
Chad played a major role in their relocation, and built a powerful
network with new servers and new phone equipment. Chad managed and
implemented a complete network hardware and software upgrade,
installed Cisco Call Manager using the latest VoiP technology, and a
Cisco security and VPN solutions and a firm intranet using Microsoft
Sharepoint technologies. Chad is a 2005 graduate of Tennessee Tech
University's Management Information Systems MBA Program, where he
also received his Bachelors of Science in MIS in May of 2001. Chad
joins a very talented IT department already in place at Moore
Colson.
Patrick Terry joined Moore Colson in December, 2005 as a
Business Assurance Manager. Patrick worked with Bennett Thrasher,
PC; Atlanta, Georgia, before joining Moore Colson where he worked as
an Assurance Senior Manager. With fourteen years of experience in
public accounting, Patrick’s career has focused on serving closely
held, entrepreneurial companies as well as public concerns and
venture backed entities in a variety of industries including
technology, manufacturing and distribution, and service. These
relationships typically included traditional audits, and consulting
assignments relating to mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings,
compensation and benefits, and due diligence. Prior to Bennett
Thrasher, Patrick worked with Grant Thornton, LLP; Atlanta, Georgia
for seven years. Patrick was a partner with Grant Thornton during
his last two years and served as an Assurance Senior Manager for
four years and Technology Industry Practice Leader for two years.
Patrick graduated from Kennesaw State University in 1990 with BS
degrees in accounting and finance. He is a member of the AICPA,
GSCPA and business organizations including Technology Association of
Georgia, MIT Technology Forum, and the Georgia Biomedical
Partnership, among others.
Jonathan Levens returns to Moore Colson as a Tax Associate
after serving as a Tax Intern during the summer of 2004. Jonathan is
a graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens, GA with a Bachelor
of Business and only has a few classes to go to receive a Masters of
Taxation . Jonathan worked as a volunteer with Project Open Hand
where he prepared and packaged meals for symptomatic HIV/AIDS
patients and delivered meals to needy, homebound HIV/AIDS patients.
Jonathan also volunteered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Worked
directly with “wish children” and their families. He is a member of
Beta Alpha Psi, the National Scholastic and Professional Fraternity
for financial information students and professionals, and was a Peer
Tutor for Introductory Accounting students at the University of
Georgia.
Jon Powell, a recent graduate of the University of Georgia
joins the professional staff of Moore Colson, on January 3 as an
Audit Associate in the Business Assurance Services practice. Jon
received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a GPA of 4.0. WOW
Congrats Jon! During the summer, Jon served as an intern with
Deloitte and Touche, LLP Atlanta, GA. Jon is a member of Phi Beta
Kappa National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society,
Beta Alpha Psi Member, HOPE Grant Scholar Recipient (1999-2002) and
President's List (4.0/4.0) for 9 Semesters and Dean's List (3.5/4.0)
for 2 Semesters.
Danielle Rainge, Danielle Rainge, Senior Associate in
Corporate Accounting. Danielle, a recent graduate of Keller Graduate
School of Management, holds a Masters in Accounting and Financial
Management, June 2005 and a Bachelors of Business Administration
from Mercer University, Stetson School of Business, Macon, Georgia.
At Mercer University, Danielle was a National Merit Scholar, Georgia
Governor’s Honor Scholar and Hope Scholar & Dean’s List member.
Danielle comes to the Moore Colson family from The Saylor Law Firm,
LLP, Atlanta, Georgia, where she served as a staff accountant.
Andrew Scott Pearce, currently a student at Samford
University in Birmingham, AL joins Moore Colson this January to
serve an internship with the firm. Andrew is a member of Beta Alpha
Psi, Accounting and Finance Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta,
Academic Honor Society, Dean's List: Fall 2002; Fall 2003, Who's Who
of American Students, 2002 and a participant in the National Youth
Leadership Forum on Defense and Intelligence, 2001.
