Moore Colson Admits Three New
Partners
Atlanta based accounting firm, Moore Colson,
recently announced the admission of three new partners. Moore
Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service CPA firm located in
Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax and assurance services, management
consulting services, estate and financial services, lender services
and information technology audit services.
At a recent firm function, Managing Partner, Greg Colson announced
the admission of J. Phillip Booth – Partner, Tax Services Practice,
David C. Cox – Partner, Business Assurance, who leads the firm’s
Internal Audit Outsourcing and Sarbanes-Oxley Consulting Services,
and J. Tom Jinks – Partner, Business Assurance, who leads the firm’s
Information Technology Controls Auditing and Consulting Services.

J. Phillip Booth, formerly a Manager in Moore Colson’s Tax
Practice, joined the firm in 1999. Phil is an attorney with over 15
years of experience with federal and state compliance issues for
corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and high net-worth
individuals. He has also provided extensive tax planning and
consulting services to closely-held companies in a variety of
industries. He is also uniquely qualified to provide counsel on
multi-state taxation and income tax credit matters. Prior to joining
Moore Colson, Phil served as a tax manager with the Atlanta
accounting firm, Ross Lane & Company. Phil attended Northern
Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law (J.D., 1988) and
the University of Kentucky (B.S., Accounting, 1985). He is a member
of the Georgia Bar Association, Tax Section; American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants; and the Georgia Society of Certified
Public Accountants.
David C. Cox, formerly a Director at Moore Colson, joined the
firm in 2001 and has over 16 years experience including 10 years
experience with Pricewaterhouse - Coopers as a Senior Manager. David
serves clients in the firm’s internal auditing outsourcing and
Sarbanes-Oxley compliance consulting practice. In addition to
holding a CPA certification, David is also a Certified Internal
Auditor (CIA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). David attended
the University of Virginia (B.S., Finance, 1987) and the University
of Georgia (Master of Accountancy, 1989).
J. Tom Jinks, formerly Director of Moore Colson’s IT Audit
Services, joined the firm in 2001. As a seasoned professional in IT
consulting, management and leadership, Tom is a Certified
Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and member of Moore Colson’s
Sarbanes-Oxley team with over 25 years experience. Prior to joining
Moore Colson, Tom spent 13 years as the President of an Atlanta-area
Computer and Internet Services Integration company. Tom is a
graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology (B.S., Industrial
Management, 1971).
