Employee Exchange Program with United Kingdom IGAF Worldwide Partner

Moore Colson Employee Steven Lathem returns from Manchester
England as part of an employee exchange program to work on audit
projects with British Accounting Firm HURST
Atlanta based CPA firm, Moore Colson recently completed this years
international employee exchange program with United Kingdom and IGAF
Worldwide partner firm HURST. HURST is a leading business advisory
and accounting firm in the North West of England, with offices in
Manchester, Liverpool and Stockport. IGAF Worldwide is an
international organization of independent local and regional firms
of Certified Public Accountants.
Steven Lathem, Business Assurance Supervisor, was selected by Moore
Colson’s partner group to represent the firm in this summer’s
employee exchange program. “I was quite pleased to have been chosen
by our partners to participate in this exchange,” said Steven
Lathem. “I wanted to participate partially for personal growth, as I
haven’t traveled abroad. I also wanted to make the trip from a
career growth perspective to learn about various accounting methods
utilized in another country. I stepped out of my comfort zone and
was greatly surprised with the results. It was a once in a lifetime
opportunity for me to see a whole new world. I highly recommend this
type experience,” said Lathem.
While with HURST, Steven worked with two firm audit clients; a
trucking company and a not-for-profit company, which was a
government funded program that provided training and prepared people
for the workforce.
In October, 2005, the initial phase of the program brought Matt
Severs, HURST Senior Accountant, to Atlanta and Moore Colson as the
first step of the joint employee exchange program. The mutual goal
of Moore Colson and HURST was for Mr. Severs to gain specific
knowledge about Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing projects,
and take that knowledge and experience back to the UK to serve Moore
Colson clients with subsidiaries located in the UK and throughout
Europe.

providing international business solutions for both organizations in
