Moore Colson Provides Some Muscle During The Firm’s Annual Community Involvement Day

Moore Colson employees descend upon Feed My Lambs’ schools across the Metro Atlanta area.

For the third consecutive year, Atlanta based accounting firm Moore Colson volunteered the firm’s staff for a day of community involvement with local children’s organization Feed My Lambs, a special ministry that provides tuition free Christian Schools for children living in poverty areas.

The Moore Colson Community Involvement day traditionally begins with breakfast and team meetings. Staff members then break into individual groups and drive to various school locations in and around the Atlanta area.

“I’m glad we were able to help the organization move out of their Fort Hills School. The kids were great to meet and were very appreciative of us coming to help. The organization has such quality leaders and it was our pleasure to help them for a day,” says Phil Booth, Moore Colson Tax Partner.

From Marietta to Jonesboro, Georgia, Moore Colson employees descended upon various schools ready for a day of hard work and interaction with the children. The Marietta team completely packed and stored everything from within the Fort Hills location. File cabinets, books, toys and shelves, everything was packed and loaded in trucks and then stored away for the summer. The Moore Colson team was rewarded with hugs and “high fives” from all the little ones, and a late lunch at Wild Wings Café. Other teams worked with light construction and had the unique experience of individual interaction with the children. They enjoyed worship songs together, crafts and storybook reading time, recess outside, more hugs and lots of love from all the children.

“Working with FML, gave us the privilege to help these precious children by packing and moving their school items for the summer. These children deserve all that we can do for them, and it motivates me to want to do more work of this type outside of the scope of this particular project”, says Jon Powell, Moore Colson Business Assurance Associate.

Feed My Lambs is a pioneer organization founded in 1982 in Atlanta. “Working with Feed My Lambs is such a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoy devoting our time and resources to such a worthy cause”, says Leah Manderano, Moore Colson event co-organizer.

“I always look forward to community involvement day with Feed My Lambs. This year we worked a little harder, but I still got my hugs from the kids. They made my day,” says Robin Kelley, Director of Marketing, Moore Colson.
