Moore Colson, CPA, Announces
Promotions
Atlanta based accounting firm, Moore Colson, CPA, recently
announced promotions for four firm employees; Scott Miller was
promoted to Business Assurance Manager, Russell Seney was promoted
to Tax Senior Associate, Adam Bateman was promoted to Tax Senior
Associate, Mary Alice Parker was promoted to Business Assurance
Senior Associate. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service
public accounting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax
and assurance services, management consulting services, estate and
financial services, lender services and IT audit services.
Scott Miller, CPA was promoted to Business Assurance Manager
in Moore Colson’s Business Assurance Services Practice. Scott has
worked on multiple Sarbanes-Oxley compliance projects, and assumes
in-charge responsibilities on financial audit engagements. Scott is
also a licensed CPA in Tennessee and Georgia, with more than 10
years tax and accounting experience. Prior to joining Moore Colson,
Scott served as Chief Financial Officer for White House Christian
Academy, White House TN, for one year, where he was responsible for
overseeing all aspects of the financial position for the Academy.
Scott also served as Senior Financial Statement Auditor for Rayburn,
Betts & Bates P.C., Nashville TN, and Staff Accountant for Hospital
Corporation of America Scott served three consecutives years as an
intern with Ernst & Young in Nashville, TN and Memphis, TN. Scott is
a graduate of Lipscomb University, Nashville, Tennessee (Bachelor of
Science in Accounting, 1997). Scott is a member of the American
Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of
Certified Public Accountants.
Russell Seney was promoted to Tax Senior Associate in Moore
Colson’s Tax Services Practice. Russ holds a BBA in Accounting from
Mercer University, and passed all 4 parts of the CPA exam. Prior to
coming to the Moore Colson Team, Russ worked with Atkinson, Henning
& Associates, P.C., Atlanta, GA, as a Tax Consultant. While working
with Henning & Associates, P.C, Russ prepared tax returns for
clients including individual, partnership, S-corporation,
C-corporation, trust and some gift tax and estate tax returns. He
also prepared tax projections for clients. Russ also worked with
Injoy, Inc. Duluth, GA, as an Accounts Receivable Associate. Russ
created and implemented new Accounts Receivable position and
responsibilities, trained and managed four employees while working
with managers in other departments to problem solve and improve
collection procedures company-wide.
Adam Bateman was promoted to Tax Senior Associate in Moore
Colson’s Tax Services Practice. Adam joined the firm after
graduating from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama. Adam
completed a double major in accounting and finance and received a
Bachelor of Science in Business Management in May 2006. Adam was a
member of Samford University’s Beta Alpha Psi chapter. Adam worked
for Merrill Lynch, Birmingham, Alabama and Paducah Bank & Trust,
Paducah, Kentucky.
Mary Alice Parker was promoted to Business Assurance Senior
Associate in the firm’s Business Assurance Practice. Mary Alice is a
graduate of Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a
concentration in Accounting Business, and completed an internship
with Morgan Stanley in Atlanta, Georgia in winter of 2004. From
Winder, Georgia, Mary Alice was an elected member of Student
Government Finance Committee, Executive Vice President of Alpha
Delta Pi Sorority and received the Oeland Accounting Scholarship
from Presbyterian College. Mary Alice Parker was also nominated for
the Firm’s 2007 Peak Award of Excellence and is a member of the
firm’s recruiting team.
