Moore Colson, CPAs, Continues Employee Exchange Program with United Kingdom IGAF Worldwide Partner HURST

Atlanta, Georgia (May 14, 2008) – Atlanta based CPA firm, Moore Colson, continued its international employee exchange program this year with United Kingdom and IGAF Worldwide partner firm HURST. Moore Colson Business Assurance Senior Associate, Yane Kim, is currently in the United Kingdom working with HURST for six weeks. During the same time period, Moore Colson is hosting HURST Audit Senior, Gemma Gowrie. Moore Colson is a full-service firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing real estate, tax and assurance services, estate and financial services, management consulting services, and IT audit services. HURST is a leading business advisory and accounting firm in the North West of England, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Stockport. IGAF Worldwide is an international organization of independent local and regional firms of Certified Public Accountants.

Yane Kim was recently selected from Moore Colson’s audit staff to participate in the joint international employee exchange program. Yane is a Business Assurance Senior Associate in Moore Colson’s Business Assurance Practice, and has worked with the firm for over 4 years. Yane works on a variety of audit engagements projects and serves on the firm’s IT SOX compliance project for one of Moore Colson’s largest clients. Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2004, Yane was a Staff Accountant with Martin Mechanical Contractors, Inc. where she handled purchase order invoices and completed bank reconciliations. Yane also served as in intern with Moore Colson’s Business Assurance practice.

Yane is a graduate of Georgia State University (Masters of Professional Accountancy), and the University of Georgia (B.B.A. in Accounting). She is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants

While with HURST, Yane has been involved with several client projects including; interviews to gain an understanding of their internal controls and various revenue and disbursements cycles, as well to document and assess internal controls and systems.

Gemma Gowrie, HURST Audit Senior, is a native of Manchester, United Kingdom. Upon graduation from the University of Manchester, Gemma started her training with Hurst in February 2005, and completed final exams in November 2007. She currently works on audits of large UK manufacturing companies, service organizations, insurance companies, solicitors partnerships, and internal audit of colleges.

While with Moore Colson, Gemma is working on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) consulting projects and various financial statement audits.

In 2005, the initial phase of the program brought HURST Senior Accountant, Matt Severs, to Atlanta and Moore Colson. Matt became a member of Moore Colson’s SOX consulting team for six weeks. In 2006, Moore Colson Business Assurance Senior Associate, Steven Lathem, traveled to the United Kingdom and HURST. Moore Colson and HURST have frequently visited each other’s firms over the years, and have made a mutual commitment to expand the relationship to better serve mutual clients and broaden international reach.
