Atlanta CPA Firm Moore Colson Promotes Three Firm Employees

Atlanta, Georgia (January 9, 2009) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson, recently announced the promotion of three firm employees. Jonathan Levens, Manager, Tax Services, Candace Jackson, Senior Associate, Business Assurance Practice and Brad Fowler, Senior Associate, Business Assurance Practice. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax, assurance, real estate, management consulting, estate and financial planning, and IT audit services.

Jonathan Levens, CPA, formerly a Senior Associate in the firm’s Tax Services Practice, began his career with Moore Colson during the summer of 2004 as a Tax Intern. In 2005 Jonathan joined the firm’s professional staff as a Tax Associate. As a Tax Manager in the firm, Jonathan performs technical tax reviews and approval of tax returns, and provides representation of firm client’s before various taxing authorities. Jonathan is a graduate of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, with a BBA in Accounting, and Georgia State University with a Master of Taxation. A member of Beta Alpha Psi, the National Scholastic and Professional Fraternity for financial information students and professionals, he was also a Peer Tutor for Introductory Accounting students at the University of Georgia. Jonathan was the recipient of the 2006 PricewaterhouseCoopers Excellence in Corporate income Tax award, an accolade presented annually for the top student in corporate income tax classes at Georgia State University, and Moore Colson’s coveted Peak Award. He is an active member of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Candace Jackson, CPA, formerly an Associate in the firm’s Business Assurance Practice, joined the professional staff at Moore Colson upon completion of her summer internship with the firm in 2007. Candace is also a recipient of the firm’s coveted Peak Award. In her new role as Senior Associate in the Business Assurance Practice, Candace is responsible for effectively and efficiently executing business assurance engagements, primarily financial statement reviews and audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance engagements. Candace also has extensive experience with employee benefit plan audits and assists in firm training related to this practice area.

Candace is a graduate of Berry College, Mount Berry, Georgia, Summa Cum Laude, Bachelor of Science, Double Major, Accounting and Finance. Candace is a recipient of the Stephen J. Cage Business Scholarship, Rome Chapter Georgia Society of CPAs Scholarship, and Georgia Society of CPA Award – Berry College, given to student demonstrating best performance in accounting. She is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi Academic Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society.

Brad Fowler, CPA, served as a summer intern with the firm in 2006. After his internship, Brad completed his studies at Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, and received a Bachelors of Science, Business Administration, Accounting, and then joined the firm’s permanent staff as a Business Assurance Associate. Brad is a member of The Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the Samford Business Network. In his new role as Senior Associate in the Business Assurance Practice, Brad is also responsible for effectively and efficiently executing business assurance engagements, primarily financial statement reviews and audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance engagements
