Moore Colson Awards Four With Firm’s Peak Award

Atlanta, Georgia (November 9, 2009) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson CPAs, recently announced multiple winners for the firm’s coveted Peak Award. The Peak Award is presented on a quarterly basis to an individual who made a significant contribution to the firm or worked on a project that is considered “above and beyond” expectations. This year, the third quarter award resulted in a four-way tie within the firm’s business assurance practice. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax, assurance, real estate, management consulting, estate and financial planning, IT audit consulting, and lender services.

As reported in nominations, “Their “over-the-top” efforts during the past several weeks with firm clients, made this team a landslide choice for the Peak. Late nights, weekends, and first-rate performances were part of the order.” The winners are: Billy Boyd, Business Assurance Senior Associate, Jena DiGiacomo, Business Assurance Senior Manager, Mary Alice Parker, Business Assurance Senior Associate, and Brian Renshaw, Business Assurance Senior Manager.

Billy Boyd is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Business Assurance Practice. Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2005, he performed two summer internships for Smith Barney. He is a graduate of Georgia State University (Masters of Professional Accountancy, 2004) and the University of Georgia (Bachelor of Business Administration-Accountancy, 2003).
Jena DiGiacomo is a Senior Manager with Moore Colson's Business Assurance Practice. Jena has been with Moore Colson since 2000. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Jena worked for an IGAF Worldwide accounting firm in Ohio for three years. Over Jena’s combined twelve years of experience in public accounting, she has provided accounting and auditing services, as well as temporary controllership services to clients in various industries, primarily manufacturing and distribution. With two degrees from the University of Akron (Bachelor of Science-Accountancy, 1997 and Bachelor of Science-Business Administration and Marketing, 1991), Jena is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Georgia and Ohio Society of CPAs.

Mary Alice Parker is a Senior Associate in Moore Colson’s Business Assurance Practice. In addition to working on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance engagements (both IT and Financial Reporting), Mary Alice performs in-charge responsibilities on audit engagements and 401 (k) employee benefit plans. With experience in compliance work, internal control reporting, due diligence, IT auditing and general business consulting, Mary Alice serves clients in the healthcare, manufacturing, distribution, service and real estate industries. She is a 2005 graduate of Presbyterian College, Clinton, South Carolina with a B.S., Business Administration and a concentration in Accounting.

Brian D. Renshaw, CPA, is a Senior Manager in Moore Colson’s Business Assurance Practice. In this role, Brian is responsible for providing audit and advisory services to clients who construct, develop, own, lease, syndicate, advise and manage all types of real estate assets. Brian is also responsible for planning and organizing financial statement audits, managing the progress of the work, and supervising staff members. Brian’s professional background in public accounting includes financial statement audits of apartment communities, home builders, retail shopping centers, self storage facilities, hotels, restaurants and sports franchises. Prior to joining Moore Colson in 2007, Brian spent 12 years with a big four firm, and was a Senior Manager in the New Orleans and Atlanta offices, where he managed financial statement audits for a number of publicly traded entities. Brian attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a Masters of Business Administration, and Centenary College with a Bachelor of Science in both Accounting and Business.
