Moore Colson CPA Resumes Employee Exchange Program with United Kingdom IGAF Polaris Partner HURST
Moore Colson CPAs Host UK HURST Audit Senior Tamara Deering

Atlanta, Georgia (August 18, 2011) – Atlanta based CPA firm, Moore Colson, again participated in its international employee exchange program with United Kingdom accounting and consulting firm HURST, by hosting Audit Senior, Tamara Deering this summer. Moore Colson and HURST are partner firms through their mutual membership in IGAF Polaris, one of the world’s largest international associations of accounting firms. Moore Colson is a full-service firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax and assurance services, estate and financial services, management consulting services, and IT audit services. HURST is a leading business advisory and accounting firm in the North West of England, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool and Stockport.

Tamara Deering, HURST Audit Senior, started her exchange program with Moore Colson on July 18, and will be with the firm through the end of August. Tamara has worked for HURST for 5 years, and was exam qualified in December 2008 and time qualified in August/September 2009 as an accountant. In the United Kingdom, one is required to complete a three year training contract to join the ICAEW (institute of chartered accountants in England and Wales). Tamara also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Archaeology and Ancient History (University of Birmingham, 2006).

Since working as an Audit Senior at HURST, Tamara serves in a lead role and is responsible for external audits, preparation of corporation tax computations as part of external audits, charity external audits, and internal audits for financial services authority clients. Tamara recently served as the senior in-charge for a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit for a European group with US ownership.

While with Moore Colson this summer, Tamara has been involved with employee benefit plan (401k) audits, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing, financial statement audits, and also attended a recent management skills training CPE (Continuing Professional Education).

In 2005 the initial phase of the program began. As a Manger at Moore Colson, Billy performs in-charge responsibilities with financial audits and reviews, in addition to managing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance teams. Billy is a graduate of Georgia State University (Masters of Professional Accountancy, 2004), and the University of Georgia (Bachelor of Business Administration-Accountancy, 2003).
