Atlanta, Georgia (December, 2015) – Atlanta-based CPA firm, Moore Colson recently announced the hiring of six new professionals: Marcia Nally – Tax Senior Manager, Shana Lyman, CPA – Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, Joe Coleman, CPA – Tax Manager, Grace Onofiok, CPA – Business Assurance Manager, Michael Klein – Business Assurance Associate, and Rochelle Sliwinski – Business Assurance Associate.
Marcia Nally, CPA – Tax Senior Manager joins Moore Colson after working for JAMESTOWN for the past five years where she managed U.S. income tax compliance for all levels of multiple tiered real estate investment funds, including partnerships, foreign and domestic corporations, and individuals. She also served as the lead manager for all of JAMESTOWN’s corporate U.S. income tax reporting and compliance. Marcia’s professional background in public accounting includes serving clients in the real estate, manufacturing, retail, private equity and venture capital, and franchise industries.
At Moore Colson, Marcia’s primary focus is providing tax compliance and planning services for closely-held businesses and their owners within the real estate industry. She also works with clients in the franchise, professional services, and retail industries. Her responsibilities include organizing engagements, managing the progress of work, suggesting and implementing tax planning ideas, and supervising associates.
Marcia is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Masters of Accountancy, 1999 and B.S. in Business Administration, 1998. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, University of Alabama Alumni Association, Gamma Phi Beta Alumni Association, and Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Shana Lyman, CPA – Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting joins Moore Colson after previously working for Georgia Development Partners, LLC as a Controller/CFO. She held similar positions with Gleneagles Group, Lyman Management, AGCO, and Arthur Andersen & Co.
Shana’s primary focus at Moore Colson is on accounting and consulting services for closely-held businesses and their owners. Her responsibilities for the firm include the coordination of corporate accounting services for clients, preparing for, planning and organizing engagements, overseeing general work progress in the department, as well as supervising the corporate accounting staff.
With over 25 years’ experience in accounting Shana’s professional background in public accounting includes serving clients in the large corporate, small family owned private company, and high net worth/family office areas, as well as the construction and hospitality industries. In addition, Shana has extensive experience in tax, including partnerships, S-corporations, estates and trusts, and individuals.
She is a graduate of the University of Georgia (Masters of Accountancy, 1991), and Auburn University (B.S., International Business, 1989). She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Construction Financial Management Association.
Joe Coleman, CPA – Tax Manager joins Moore Colson after working for Moore Stephens Tiller, Atlanta for the past eight years. Most recently, he worked as a Tax Manager for three years where he was responsible for managing multiple projects and responsibilities including new business development, preparing corporate consolidated tax returns for companies with revenue up to a billion dollars, developing tax planning strategies, preparing complex federal and multi-state tax returns for various entity types, and maintaining and developing client relationships.
Joe has professional experience working with clients in the real estate, manufacturing, professional services, technology, finance, investing, and nonprofit industries. Joe received a Master of Accounting from Kennesaw State University in July 2011, and also a B.B.A., Accounting from Kennesaw State University in May 2007.
Grace Onofiok, CPA – Business Assurance Manager joins Moore Colson after working for CohnReznick LLP, Atlanta as an Audit Manager. In this role she managed financial statement audits, reviews, agreed upon procedures, consultations and compilations of real estate and not-for-profit industries that included accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and breakeven calculations. Grace held similar positions with Key and Associates, Silver Spring, Maryland, Reznick Group P.C, Bethesda, Maryland, Plante and Moran, Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Capin Crouse LLP, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Grace has over nine years of experience in public accounting working with privately held companies in diverse industries, including Real Estate (Affordable Housing), Not-For-Profit industry, Higher Education, and Manufacturing.
Grace is a graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Michigan, December 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts and Science (Double major in Accounting and Economics). While attending Calvin College she was a member of the Dean’s list Spring 2001- 2004 and received an Academic Achievement Award Spring 2001-2004. Grace was also a member of the National Dean’s List January 2000-August 2000 at Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida. Grace is a member of the Georgia Association of Certified Public Accountants, Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Rochelle Sliwinski – Business Assurance Associate joins Moore Colson after previously working as an Accounting Intern (taxation) for Fusion CPA, Atlanta from February 2015 – April 2015. She also worked at North American Industry Tech, San Diego, Coronado Island Naval Base, California as an Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Bookkeeper from May 2007 – June 2011. Rochelle is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi, a National Honor Society, served as Historian for a term for the Mt. San Jacinto College SEA (Student Economic Association), a Volunteer Patient Advisor on ITSAN (International Topical Steroid Addiction Network) Patient Advisory Panel, and was a volunteer for Urban Angels, a nonprofit to feed the homeless of San Diego.
Rochelle attended Humboldt State University, Arcata, California in the Spring of 2014 for a semester, before transferring to Southern New Hampshire University, Hooksett, New Hampshire where she received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in December, 2015. She also attended Mount San Jacinto College, San Jacinto, California and received an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration.
Michael Klein – Business Assurance Associate is a 2015 graduate of Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. While attending Berry College, he worked on-campus as an Internal Audit Assistant and Sports Information Assistant. As an internal audit assistant, he updated financial records and expenses for various departments, and managed various database programs.
Michael was a member of the Berry cross country and track team. He was awarded the Cross Country Team Award as a senior and made the SAA Athletic Academic Honor Roll during the Fall 2013, Fall 2014, and Spring 2015 semesters. As a junior and senior, the cross country team placed sixth and eighth respectively at the D3 South Regional Meet, while placing second at the SAA Conference Meet. He was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2011, Spring 2012, Fall 2013, and Fall 2014 semesters.
