Atlanta, Georgia (December, 2015) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson recently announced it placed first in the Large Accounting Firm Category for the 2015 Georgia Accounting Food Fight. Sponsored by the Atlanta Community Food Bank and presented by the Georgia Society of CPAs, the 2nd annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight provided vital food assistance to hungry children, families and seniors throughout metro Atlanta.
In the second year as a participant in the Georgia Accounting Food Fight, Moore Colson continued to raise money to help Atlanta’s hungry, but firm employees had some fun while doing so.
“Moore Colson does not simply stroke a check. Our entire firm gets involved, with most of our donations coming from our team members”, says Todd McMullen, Partner, Moore Colson.
Moore Colson’s two-week food fight featured several fund-raising events including: raffling dinners donated by one of the firm’s restaurant clients, a car wash manned by a team of firm partners, buying dress down days, a clean out your pantry day, and a dunk tank which was a huge success.
“As a result of Moore Colson’s creative event planning and employee participation, Moore Colson raised $7,766 and 722 pounds of food, both surpassing last year’s totals. But the biggest award is that the Georgia Accounting Food Fight raised over $100,000 and 11,000 pounds of food, enough for 400,000 meals to feed the hungry – that is truly awesome”, says Todd McMullen.
The first place award was recently presented to Moore Colson’s organizing committee.
